Arthritis

Arthritis is a common condition that causes pain and inflammation within a joint. A common misconception is that arthritis is due to age. Arthritis it is not age dependent process, nor is it reversible.

The most common form of arthritis is osteoarthritis, it generally occurs due poor lifestyle. This is a form of arthritis, where the cartilage (connective tissue) between the bones gradually wastes away, leading to painful rubbing of bone on bone in the joints.

The most frequently affected joints are in the hands, spine, knees and hips. The symptoms of osteoarthritis vary greatly from person to person, and between different affected joints.

Common symptoms include:

  • Joint pain, tenderness and stiffness
  • Inflammation in and around the joints
  • Restricted movement of the joints
  • Warmth and redness of the skin over the affected joint
  • Weakness and muscle wasting
